What is the Term-Long Program?

The Term-Long Program (TLP) pairs you with one of our peer writing consultants for an entire term. Once you apply and are assigned, you and your consultant make your own schedule for meeting one or two hours a week (or 8-10 hours per term). Meeting times can be as flexible or fixed as you like.

What can I work on with my TLP partner?

You can discuss your classes and assignments, get feedback on ideas or drafts, receive support in setting writing goals, and likely make a new friend! Some writer/consultant pairs continue working together over multiple terms.

What kinds of writers does the TLP work best for?

The program is a commitment and works best for students taking writing-rich courses or who otherwise expect to be writing on a weekly basis. Compsing seniors, sophomores working on portfolios, and multilingual writers are also great fits for the TLP.

Okay! I am ready to get involved!

Great! Stop by Libe 420D to speak with the Assistant Director & Coordinator of Multilingual Writing Support, Kristen Vogel, send an email to kvogel@carleton.edu, or apply here.
