Science supporter: Susan Singer, the Laurence McKinley Gould Professor of the Natural Sciences, is taking a leave of absence from Carleton to serve as director of the National Science Foundation’s Division of Undergraduate Education.

Business leaders: Carleton has awarded the 2013 Lofgren Alumni Business Fellowships to
Nicholas Coult ’93 and Luke Lightning ’93, who are both pursuing mid-career executive MBAs.

Going for the gold: The Weitz Center for Creativity has earned LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council under its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program, which recognizes high performance green buildings.
