Last fall Alex Cardenas ’20 (Panorama City, Calif.) saw the lightning outside his Myers Hall window and decided to try to capture it for his photography class. Four hours later, he’d shot about 600 frames. “I’d never attempted lightning photography before,” says Cardenas, “so my first 150 photos had nothing but trees in them. I ended up with a lot of mosquito bites, but I captured the lightning.”
