Here are a few of the friendly—and hungry—faces we spotted on campus this past summer. For the past six years, Carleton’s grounds department has borrowed goats from local farmers to manage invasive species. The goats chow down on buckthorn and bush honeysuckle and are a sustainable alternative to using herbicides and far less work than removing the woody plants by hand. If you missed the goat chew, er crew this summer, plan to stop by and say hello next year.
