A Lot of Love to Go Around

11 November 2022
It’s a beautiful sunny morning for the Parade of Classes.

More than 2,000 alumni, family members, and friends arrived on campus in June for the first in-person reunion since 2019. Attendees caught up with classmates, professors, mentors, and staff members as they celebrated their return to Carleton.

Events for the weekend included an update on inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives at Carleton from President Alison Byerly, associate dean of students Trey Williams, and vice president and dean of admissions and financial aid Art Rodriguez ’96; a joint reception between the Multicultural Alumni Network and Out After Carleton; a family-friendly carnival; the well-loved Parade of Classes; ice cream making at Dacie’s; and, of course, a lot of dancing.

Following Saturday’s parade, class gifts were presented at Reunion Convocation following the announcement of this year’s Alumni Association Awards and ‘C’ Club Inductees.

The Class of 1997 came together in celebration of their 25th Reunion to raise an impressive $484,852 for the Alumni Annual Fund, which is the fourth-largest 25th class gift in the college’s history.

Members of the Class of 1972 then celebrated their 50th reunion and lifelong commitment to Carleton by announcing a $38.9 million class gift (and reaching $39.1 million by the end of the fiscal year), the second–largest class gift ever.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Reunion 2023: June 15–18!
