The submission window for the Spring 2026 issue of the Undergraduate Journal of Humanistic Studies is currently open! Papers will be accepted until Monday, April 6th at 11:59 p.m.

The UJHS is looking for high-quality research and analytical papers with fresh points of view in the humanities and social sciences. Submissions of creative or opinion writing will not be accepted.

Students from any undergraduate academic institution, including those who have graduated within the past year, may submit papers. Students must choose only ONE paper, over ten pages long (excluding bibliography), that they would like to submit for the upcoming issue. Authors of papers chosen for publication must be willing to revise their writing and will work with UJHS editors to do so. All submissions will receive notifications of acceptance or rejection, as well as peer-review rubrics following our review process.

The UJHS will only accept submissions of unpublished writing. If a paper has been submitted to another publication, it is the author’s responsibility to let the UJHS board know if their piece has been selected and if they would prefer to have it published in said journal.

Submissions must be in Microsoft Word. Documents should be paginated, double-spaced, have one-inch margins, and be written in Times New Roman 12 pt. font. Please format your submission according to the Notes and Bibliography Chicago Manual of Style guidelines.
