All TRIO students will complete an Individual Success Plan (ISP) at the beginning of the year, outlining their requirements for each term.

Required participation*:

First-Year Students

  • Meet with your TRIO advisor three times per term
  • Attend Required First-Year Workshops/Events
    • Fall: Two First-Year Workshops
    • Winter: First-Year Team Building Day
    • Spring: Strong Interest Inventory Workshop
  • Attend at least one TRIO Community Enrichment Event each term (see event calendar)
  • Attend at least one TRIO Academic workshop per term (not applicable for Fall term)
  • Attend one Peer Leader Event per term
  • Complete one iGrad activity per term

Sophomores

  • Meet with your TRIO advisor at least twice per term
  • Attend at least one TRIO Workshop per term
  • Attend the required Writing Portfolio Workshop during winter term (see event calendar)
  • Attend at least one TRIO Community Enrichment Event each term (see event calendar)
  • Complete one iGrad activity per term

Juniors

  • Meet with your TRIO advisor twice per term
  • Attend at least one TRIO Workshop each term (see event calendar)
  • Attend at least one TRIO Community Enrichment Event each term (see event calendar)
  • Complete one iGrad activity per term

Seniors

  • Meet with your TRIO advisor once per term
  • Complete 2 out of the following 3 activities:
    • Attend at least one TRIO Workshop each term (see event calendar)
    • Attend at least one TRIO Community Enrichment Event each term (see event calendar)
    • Complete one iGrad activity per term

Additional Opportunities:

  • Talk to peers and alumni about succeeding at Carleton
  • Check out textbooks from our lending library
  • Mentor First-Years as a TRIO Peer Leader
  • Attend Educational Trips

*Please note that these are the minimum requirements that need to be met. Acceptance to TRIO can be rescinded if student participation is not satisfactory.
