Amir Sakura Etemadi ’27

Hello! My name is Amir Sakura Etemadi, and I am a sophomore. My hometown is Gainesville, Florida. I’m studying Biology with a minor in Biochemistry. I admire athletes like LeBron James. My favorite book is “The Great Gatsby,” and I really enjoy sushi. In my spare time, I like watching the TV show “All American” and the movie “Wedding Crashers.”
Beyonce Maldonado ’28

Hey! My name is Beyonce Maldonado, and I’m from Los Angeles, California. As a city girl, I have been enjoying the small-town experience since there’s always something to do or somewhere to be! At Carleton, I am a prospective Computer Science major and Stats minor. I’m a big fan of the Arb and would highly recommend taking the time to explore! If not in my dorm, you’ll likely find me walking in the Upper Arb or tucked away in a room in Olin/Hulings. In my free time, I like to crochet, embroider, collect blind boxes, and watch anime. I look forward to getting to know you all!
Robert Los ’27

Hello, I am Robert and I come from Glenview, Illinois. I am currently a Political Science major working on becoming a Law student after graduating. At Carleton, I usually hang out with my friends around Sayles, the Rec, or have campfires on the Lyman lakes. I have been keeping up with the show Invincible on Prime video and enjoy superhero shows in general.
Rimona Zhang ’28

Hi! My name is Rimona (She/her) and I’m a sophomore from Central New Jersey! I’m a prospective cognitive science major and potential data science minor. On campus you will most likely find me studying in a random corner of the libe (library) or Olin. Some of my favorite foods are shapale (a Tibetan dish), soup dumplings, and really anything yummy. In my spare time I enjoy long walks, listening to music, and journaling whenever I remember. I’m excited to start my first year as a TRIO Peer Leader and meeting everyone!
Nathaniel Conroy ’28

Hi. My name is Nathaniel Conroy. I come from southern Alabama, and I enjoy the beach. I moved out of the United States when I was around 6 or 7 and lived in the Philippines for 8 years, seeing many amazing things and learning the language. I moved to Pennsylvania and lived there for another 2 years around the Pittsburgh area and then came back to my birthplace of Alabama! I am a Questbridge scholar and wish to pursue a Biology degree at Carleton and go to medical school to, hopefully, become an Anesthesiologist! Whenever I am not studying in my dorm, I like to walk around campus or bike around Northfield; my favorite place on campus has to be either Sayles or the bald spot. In the Northfield area, anywhere near the lake is amazing–especially if you’re grabbing the Blast whenever they’re open. I am an avid mountain biker and occasionally go around the trails Northfield has to offer. Carleton actually does have a student-led biking club that is fairly active! I’m in the sailing and archery clubs, which Carleton offers as well; archery is done right here at the fields near the Recreation Center and sailing is done at beautiful Lake Byllesby. I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know you better! We’re grateful to have you here at Carleton and at TRIO.
