How it works
- Sign up for a membership! You’ll need a valid driver’s license. Most people are approved instantly and can book a trip in minutes. Vehicles are located in parking lot just west of James Hall.
- Book a round-trip car by the hour or day. Use the app to unlock and lock during your trip. Driving rates are $9.50/hr and $79/day (other fees may apply).
- When you’re done, park the car in the same location you picked it up from, then end the trip with the app.
- Zipcar is not approved for CSA student organization related travel. Expenses related to Zipcar usage are not considered a CSA reimbursable expense.
- Helpful information: Before starting your Zipcar, allow 10-15 minutes for the vehicle inspection and photo documentation process. Ensure your cell phone is fully charged, as you’ll use it to lock and unlock the vehicle. Upon starting the car, you’ll hear a series of beeps as the vehicle searches for the “key” (your phone serves as the key).

Zipcar App
You’ll need to download the Zipcar app to your mobile device in order to book a trip. You will use the app to unlock and lock during your trip. When you’re done, you’ll end the trip using the app.
