A message from Hiawathaland Transit Executive Director Jenny Larson:
As your city’s public transit provider, we wanted to reach out and let you know that our Hiawathaland Transit bus services are currently operating on normal schedules in Red Wing, Faribault, Northfield and all of our dial-a-ride communities.
We take the health and safety of our drivers, passengers and the entire community very seriously. We are directing any staff who are ill or have a known exposure to COVID-19 to stay home. We are also asking any passengers who are ill or exposed to follow public health directives and stay home and off of the bus. We are regularly cleaning the bus surfaces and recommending that passengers put space between them and their fellow passengers while riding the bus.
We know that the COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly, and we may need to quickly make service adjustments. We will try to update you with any disruptions or alterations in service as they may arise. You or any member of the community can also reach out to our dispatch staff if there is a question about service availability: call 1-866-623-7505 between 4:30 a.m–9:00 p.m. M-F or 7:30 a.m–4:30 p.m. S-S.
Three Rivers Community Action is also providing many other programs and services at this time. While Head Start will be closed per the Governor’s school closing directive, we are operating many other programs and services, including Energy Assistance, Housing, Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing, Senior Programs, SNAP application assistance, Weatherization, and Homeownership Assistance. Please note that at this time we are asking clients or members of the public to call 507-316-0610 to speak with a staff person or schedule a phone appointment rather than visit us in person.
