Along with an outside Hearing Officer, two members of the Community Board on Sexual Misconduct (CBSM) hear each formal Title IX case. The panel hears from both parties and may ask questions to make a decision about the sanctions to put in place. The panel considers their responsibility to balance three priorities:

  • Keep the campus safe
  • Prevent recurrence
  • Remedy the effects of the behavior in violation
