Kristi E. Snowden Memorial Fund: Student Procedures for Use of Fund
The Office of the Dean of Students oversees and grants awards from this fund. Please consult with and inform the Dean of Students Office of upcoming productions.
In an effort to be good stewards of the Kristi Snowden Memorial Fund, please observe the following:
1. Contact Tammy Anderson, Assistant to the Dean of Students (Severance Suite 110) to determine the budget for the production. Work with the Dean of Students Office regarding all expenses/receipts. Carleton is tax exempt so you will be given a letter to use in ordering materials.
2. Immediately notify the Stewardship Office of the date, place, and time of the event. They will assist you in sending a timely formal invitation to Mrs. Snowden. This will allow Mrs. Snowden time to make travel arrangements, etc. Include your thanks for this fund in Kristi’s memory, which is making your musical possible.
3. Acknowledge in all public materials that the Kristi E. Snowden Memorial Fund is making the musical possible.
The following dedication is to be printed on the program for each musical:
Kristi E. Snowden Memorial Fund
Kristi Snowden was in her junior year at Carleton when she died in her sleep on November 11, 1991. An honors student, she was equally committed to learning and acting. While pursuing a special studies major that combined biology and women’s studies, Kristi played in several Carleton productions, including Into the Woods. She had just been cast as Amanda in The Glass Menagerie at the time of her death.
Kristi especially loved musicals and she appeared in many during the course of her 20 years. Because these productions seem best to embody Kristi’s vibrant spirit, her family established this tribute to her life.
4. Programs/Advertising: If Mrs. Snowden is unable to attend the performance, please sent a follow-up letter regarding the performance, along with a copy of the musical program, posters, etc.
5. Bring in your communications (letters, programs, etc.) to the Stewardship Office (200 Division Street, Suite 300) for the college’s stewardship files. A copy of the program should also be given to the Dean of Students Office.
Many thanks for your good care of this special fund, which keeps Kristi’s memory strong.
