The Experimental Theater Board (ETB) is Carleton’s non-musical, non-departmental student theater group. ETB coordinates and funds theatrical productions, with Carleton students participating in every artistic and technical capacity. ETB’s elected board of officers manage use of Carleton’s 96-seat black box venue, Nourse Little Theater.
Students at Carleton are encouraged to participate in ETB productions (regardless of prior experience) by auditioning for on-stage roles, volunteering for technical design, writing scripts for the Spring one-acts, or submitting applications to direct any show, whether full-length or one-act.
ETB generally produces two to four full-length plays per term as well as an evening of one-acts. In the spring, in addition to the student-written one acts, ETB produces the 24-Hour Show, a series of short plays written, produced, and performed within a 24-hour period. New this year, we have also begun a play-reading series as well as a directing and stage management apprentice program.
