MADWOMAN is an original new play by Kaelyn Rothe '26, which brings a new life to the Greek mythological character of Cassandra. The play pulls her out of her ancient mythological context and into the modern world, and her ability to see the future follows her into it. MADWOMAN follows Cassandra as she navigates her relationships with her family and the men in her life, and the prophecy that looms over her and every move she makes. This play tackles themes of mental health, abuse, and women's voices. The play forces the audience to face the question: Who gets to tell someone’s story, and who earns the right to be believed?
