Lauren Simpson is a choreographer and performer living in San Francisco. She is an Artist in Residence at ODC Theater from 2018 – 2021 and recently received an Individual Arts Commission Grant from the city of San Francisco. She also co-directs Simpson/Stulberg Collaborations. Their main project is called Still Life Dances, which are movement studies that draw on the detail, precision, and highly skilled painting techniques found in 19th Century still life paintings. Our Still Life Dances were nominated for two Izzy Awards in 2016 and have been commissioned at various universities, theaters and festivals across the country. Lauren’s newest work, “Dance Exhibit,” will premiere at Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco in May 2019.
