Sustainability Office Hiring a Fifth Year

The sustainability office is hiring a full-time fifth-year sustainability education associate! The role could start at the end of term and run through the winter or the following summer. Please share with folks who have recently graduated, or will graduate soon. We will be working on events that build awareness, community, and agency for sustainability and environmental justice solutions.

Your work will directly contribute to our Sustainable Futures goals with Carleton students, faculty, staff, alumni and broader audiences. You will play an especially important roll to the Peer Leader Program and supporting Carleton students in working on collaborative projects in sustainability. In particular, you will support peer-to-peer programs like New Student Week and the Winter Peer Leader Workshop. You will also help coordinate Zero Waste programming. You will have opportunities to work on projects of special interest to you. Team projects focus on: Food Systems, Buildings & Energy Management, Climate Resilience, and Transportation.

Please express interest, or discuss the opportunity with the Director of Sustainability, Dr. Sarah Fortner (sfortner@carleton.edu).We hope to have someone who is available for a year, but would consider someone who can stay through winter term. The office supports major themes of Sustainable Futures especially engaging other students in sustainability and working on projects that reduce emissions or support adaptation and environmental justice. The Sustainability Education Associate Pay will be $18.95/hr after July 1st, 2025.
