Schiller Society is about more than virtual chat boards and hosting. This volunteer branch of the Admissions is also dedicated to making the best prospective experience possible in-person!

What is Café with a Carl?

Café with a Carl is the opportunity for 1:1 in-person engagement with prospective students and their families over the lunch hour. Current students will get paired up with some of our guests and escort them to the dining hall (Burton or LDC, your choice!) and share a meal with them.

This new volunteer opportunity will allow Student Ambassadors the time to get to know prospective students in-person, answer their questions, and giving them additional insight into Carleton.

How do I get involved?

If you’re interested in Café with a Carl, you should fill out this form at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to reach out to Holly Buttrey, Senior Assistant Dean of Admissions, at hbuttrey@carleton.edu.

What else should I know?

There will be Café trainings at the beginning of each term and Student Ambassadors must complete at least one training before they can participate. And, all Student Ambassadors must complete the protecting minors training.
