The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Lab helps students in all majors acquiring GIS/mappable data, performing geospatial and map analysis, presenting projects with interactive maps, and collecting field data with GPS/GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems). The lab provides consultation services on geospatial database design/data organization and geospatial analysis methods. The student assistants may be your first contact if you are seeking help for specific software/hardware tools or datasets! Additionally, the lab maintains campus and local GIS data to support community-based projects and supports the use of ArcGIS suite of software including Pro, StoryMaps, Field Maps, ArcGIS Online Instant Apps, and the open source QGIS.
