Academic Support Center

This set of programs and services supports students in achieving their academic goals. ASC resources include one-to-one tutoring in writing, math, and other subjects; prefect sessions (informal group review sessions for particular courses); and coaching in learning strategies and time management.

Office of Accessibility Resources

This is a resource for students with disabilities who need appropriate accommodations. In some cases, a mental health condition or disability with brief, periodic flare-ups may legitimately impact course attendance/assignments on occasion. Students can meet with Accessibility Resources staff to consider possible accommodations. Since each course has unique requirements, Accessibility Resources staff discuss possible accommodations with instructors each term. It is important to request accommodations at the beginning of a term whenever possible.

Gender and Sexuality Center

The Gender and Sexuality Center helps support a dynamic campus community that recognizes, supports and celebrates sexual and gender diversity – specifically centering resources and services for LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Aromantic, and more) students. To accomplish this, the GSC hosts events, mentoring programs, speakers, and workshops.

The GSC also offers a comfortable space on campus where students can drop by anytime to browse through the library, grab resources, study, or to chat with the staff.

Office of Intercultural Life (OIL)

Carleton’s Office of Intercultural Life (OIL) strives to enhance the student experience by providing programming and support that advocates for a just and inclusive community. OIIL is open to all students regardless of race, gender, color, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin and socio-economic status. However, OIIL has a unique role of providing direct support to both students of color and international students centered around  programming that affirms, supports and engages students.

Office of International Student Life (ISL)

Whether you are looking to become a student at Carleton or you’re a continuing international student, the Office of International Student Life (ISL) recognizes that the decision to study in a foreign country brings a lot of new adventures along with some challenges. The goal of ISL is to help you make the most out of your college experience by working as an advocate for international students with departments, administrative offices, and U.S. government offices.

Student Activities Office

The Student Activities Office develops and coordinates a variety of social, recreational, cultural, and developmental programs and services. In conjunction with The Student Activities Programming Board (SAPB) and The Carleton Student Association (CSA), they offer and support programs and services designed to challenge beliefs, educate others, inspire the individual, entertain the soul, and create a sense of campus community and pride.

Have your student visit one of SAO’s many events including their Grilled Cheese event in their office!

TRIO/Student Support Services

TRIO is a federally funded program that provides academic, personal and financial support to low-income and first-generation college students and those with a documented disability. Additionally, Carleton’s program creates a supportive community where peers can gather to relax, study, or just have fun.

TRIO/Student Support Services staff serve as a resource for current and former TRIO students through our holistic advising model. When TRIO students are experiencing concerns related to financials we coordinate with multiple offices such as Student Financial Aid, the Business Office and the Dean of Students Office to provide the best option available to the student. In addition we provide direct support related to classroom materials.
