Sexual Assault Awareness Month - Clothesline Project kickoff

Tue, April 22, 2025 • 12:00pm • Sayles 254

Join us for a kick-off event for our sexual assault awareness month community art project. We have organized a space that aims to center the stories of survivors of sexual assault and relationship violence, experienced firsthand or witnessed by loved ones. The space will exist as a series of t-shirts connected on a clothesline in line with a nationally recognized “clothesline project”, which honors survivors and humanizes their experiences through clothing.

We hope to create support and community in the space through words and visuals, and we hope it can be a meaningful way to recognize the impacts of sexual violence in our community. On the t-shirt you can use it to share a story, share about healing, etc. We just ask that no names are included on this project.

This community project will be displayed and accessible in the Sayles for roughly two weeks, from April 22nd to May 1st. We welcome you all to join us for its opening during common time (12-1) on April 17th. Snacks will be provided as well as art supplies to contribute to the space.
