Spring Term Closing is divided into two departure dates:

Non Senior Closing: Residential Halls and Houses close at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 6 for all First Year, Sophomore, and Junior students.

Exemption: Students who have been approved for Commencement Week Housing may remain in their Spring Term housing assignment.

Senior Closing: Residential Halls and Houses close at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 10 for seniors and non-senior students approved for Commencement Week Housing.

Non-Senior Closing (Tuesday, June 6)

The Residential Halls and Houses close at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 6.

Unless a student has applied and been approved for Commencement Week Housing, all First Year, Sophomore, and Junior class students must vacate campus by this time.

Please complete the following checklist by 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 6 to fulfill the checkout requirements. An improper check out may result in a fee.

  • Remove all of your belongings from your room.
  • Remove all trash and recyclables to outside containers and clean your room. 
  • Empty, defrost, and clean the College-owned micro-fridge assigned to your room. View Cleaning Instructions.
  • Close and lock windows (including storm windows).
  • Put your key into the yellow Key Return Envelope and deposit into the closest Express Key Box. Envelopes will be taped to your door.

*The last person to vacate the room must complete the Closing Checklist that will be taped to your door.

Storage

Students utilizing storage MUST have current storage stickers on each box/container AND must be present when storing their belongings. Stickers can be purchased at the Bookstore. NO FURNITURE of any kind can be stored in the facilities. Visit Student Storage to view important storage information and available Spring Term Closing Storage Hours. 

We highly encourage students to begin storing as soon as possible. Students can store in multiple locations on different days to avoid storing all belongings in a single trip. Students planning to store items on Tuesday, June 6 can expect long lines, limited space, and potential elevator/access delays.

Approved Early Arrival Students: DO NOT store in Cassat Hall if you are arriving between August 16 and August 31- You will not have access to your belongings due to Cassat Hall renovations. Store in Goodhue, Watson, James, or Musser.

 Students participating in Fall OCS are encouraged to store in Cassat Hall.  

Senior Closing (Saturday, June 10)

The Residential Halls and Houses close at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 10.

All Senior students and non-seniors who have approved for Commencement Week Housing must fully vacate their Spring Term housing location at this time.

Please complete the following checklist by 2:00pm on Saturday, June 10 to fulfill the checkout requirements. An improper check out may result in a fee.

Storage

Seniors who have personal belongings in storage must remove them by Friday, May 26 to make space for Spring Term Closing for Non-Seniors. To do so, schedule a storage appointment today! Items remaining after this date may be donated or discarded. Storage will not be available on Commencement Day.

Commencement Week & Summer Housing (advanced approval required)

Students who have been approved for any section of summer housing (June 6-September 9) will receive a detailed confirmation email outlining the terms of their reservation.

The information below is a summary of what those who have a pending request can expect as part of Spring Term Closing expectations.

Students who are ONLY approved for Summer Break (approved to arrive on or after June 12) housing must vacate their Spring Term assignment and return the key by 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 6. Students will then be rehoused in summer housing (Musser Hall) beginning on their approved arrival date as long as the date is during Monday-Friday; 8:30am – 4:30pm. 


Students who are ONLY approved for Commencement Week Housing should remain in their Spring Term housing assignment through 2:00pm on Saturday, June 10 at which point they must vacate their room and return the key. 


Students who are ONLY approved for Early Arrival must vacate their Spring Term assignment and return the key by 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 6.


Students who are approved for consecutive Commencement Week Housing AND Summer Break should remain in their Spring Term housing assignment until Friday, June 9 at which point they will move to their summer housing (Musser Hall) assignment.


Approved Full Summer students will move from their Spring Term assignment to their Summer assignment on Friday, June 9 and will move from their Summer assignment to their Fall Term assignment the week of August 21.
