Nearly 80% of Carleton students have a campus job.
Campus jobs commonly include positions in dining services, academic and administrative offices, the library, the recreation center, and facilities.
Student employment is normally awarded to need-based aid recipients as part of their financial aid award. Although a student may choose not to work during the school year and still receive other forms of assistance, most first-year students find working approximately seven to eight hours per week manageable.
“My student employment experience has given me so many new skills that can be applied to any other future position. My abilities to communicate, organize, and collaborate in a professional setting will definitely be important in all of my future workplaces.”— Zach Irvin ’21, Gould Library Loan Services Assistant
