Sambusa Sunday

Mon, October 28, 2024 - Sun, November 10, 2024 • 5:30pm - 7:00pm (13d) • Cassat Game Room

The Horn of Africa Student Association (HOASA) invites Carls to “Sambusa Sunday,” a hands-on workshop where students learn to make sambusas, a popular East African snack. Sambusas are savory pastries filled with spiced meat or lentils and are a staple at East African gatherings, such as graduations, weddings, and community celebrations. They are often enjoyed alongside other traditional dishes, which we will be serving Somali Bariis for our event! This is open to all students, and no prior cooking experience is required. In addition to learning how to prepare sambusas, this workshop offers a chance to connect and share a fun, interactive experience of our HOAn traditions with fellow students. All are welcome to join and explore East African culture through food!
