Hmong New Year
Historically, Hmong New Year is an annual spiritual celebration marking the end of the fall harvest season that involved Hmong people performing ceremonies and giving offerings to their ancestors and community. The purpose of the event was to celebrate and welcome a new beginning to the new year. In our event we plan to honor these traditions and share them with the Carleton community in facilitating this event by bringing in Hmong speakers, food and performances and sharing them in Great Hall. The event will follow a schedule with doors opening at 6:00 pm and closing at 9:00 pm
