Choose from the list of receptions below to learn more about specific programs, services, and other aspects of student life at Carleton. Feel free to stop by multiple locations.

  • 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  GENDER & SEXUALITY CENTER RAINBOW RECEPTION, Hodgson House, 205 E 2nd St
    Stop by the GSC Rainbow Reception to learn more about the Carleton LGBTQIA+ communities (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender non-binary, queer, questioning, asexual, and other underrepresented sexual orientations and gender identities). Meet the staff of the Gender and Sexuality Center and the leaders of student groups affiliated with the GSC and learn about fall programming.
  • 12:30 - 3:00 p.m.  RECREATION CENTER OPEN HOUSE, Recreation Center
    Stop by to take a tour and enjoy a variety of activities. Gauge your mood and choose the event(s) that best suit you.

    • Fitness Center Orientation, 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
      Get a great start on balancing a healthy lifestyle before classes start by taking advantage of a free orientation to the Fitness Center in the Rec Center led by our LifeStyles Personal Trainers. Stop by one of these sessions to learn your way around and get comfortable with the workout equipment.
    • Want to Have an Adventure?, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
      Climbing/Bouldering: Are you a first-time or experienced climber? Doesn’t matter! Come learn how to climb, boulder, and belay (and what those terms actually mean) at the Rec Center’s Climbing Wall and Bouldering Cave. Climbing staff members will be there to teach and direct you.
  • 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  MEET YOUR STUDENT GOVERNMENT, Sayles-Hill Campus Center, Room 251
    Interested in representing your fellow students and advocating for crucial change on campus? Want to learn about key issues that your student government is currently working on? Come meet your Carleton Student Association (CSA) Senators and learn how you can start student projects, form a new student organization, or get involved in serving your student body. Also join us for our first CSA Senate meeting of the year on Monday, September 15th at 7:00 p.m. in Weitz 235!
  • 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  MEET THE STUDENT ACTIVITIES OFFICE PROGRAMMING BOARD (SAPB), Student Activities Office, Sayles-Hill Campus Center, Room 051 (lower level)
    Stop by the Student Activities Office to learn more about how to get involved with the many co-curricular activities that Carleton has to offer. The Student Activities Programming Board (SAPB) is a team of students who are responsible for creating exciting and meaningful activities for the campus community. Come learn about what is being planned for fall term, how to get involved with the many campus traditions, and how to join or start a student organization. Looking for a campus job? This is also a great time to inquire about open positions on the programming board! Snacks will be provided. 
  • 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  THE CAVE, Evans Hall (lower level)
    The Cave is a student-run music and entertainment venue and campus hangout. Stop by for an afternoon of music, free food, and billiards, plus the opportunity to meet the student staff who manage The Cave. The Cave is open Thursday-Saturday nights during the academic year, and hosts live bands, dances, and other fun/free student-coordinated events. Looking for a fun campus job?   • 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  KRLX 88.1 FM, Sayles-Hill Campus Center (lower level)
    KRLX is Carleton’s student-run, free-form radio station located in lower Sayles. Stop by to meet the KRLX Board of Directors, enjoy some snacks, and learn how you can apply to host your own radio show fall term
  • 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  SECURITY SERVICES OPEN HOUSE, Hoppin House
    Carleton’s Security Services department operates 24 hours a day, every day to provide a safe and welcoming community. Stop by Hoppin House to meet our staff and learn about our role in supporting students through the various services we offer.
