The Student Activities Office (SAO) offers a variety of music equipment to loan to students for live performances on-campus or in town. There is a PA system, microphones, a drum set, bass guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, and a variety of amplifiers. SAO also has a JBL Partybox that can be checked out for use as a DJ speaker or vocal speaker for dance parties or karaoke nights. The equipment can be reserved using the link to the form on this page. Reservations for equipment must be made at least two days in advance of the performance or party date. *Please note that the performance location or party location must be a campus location approved in 25Live or a venue in the community. Music equipment cannot be loaned out for use in unapproved locations on campus.*

If an item goes missing or is damaged while on loan, please notify SAO immediately so the problem can be fixed prior to the next loan of equipment. Do not borrow equipment from other campus locations for live performances. Access to the loan equipment will be revoked if equipment is borrowed from other campus locations.

Please meet at SAO for equipment pick up. You can park at the Sayles-Hill loading dock if you are transporting the equipment.

Policies

  • All equipment checked out must be returned in clean, working condition to the Student Activities Office. (Hours M-F 9am to 5pm. There is NO after-hours or weekend pickup/ drop off. Do not call Security to return equipment early. )
  • All equipment must be returned at the agreed upon time. Failure to return equipment on time will result in a daily fee being assessed.
  • Lost or damaged equipment as a result of misuse or neglect will result in a replacement fee being applied to the student’s account. Typical wear and tear is expected.
  • Loss of access to the equipment may result if equipment is loaned out to a third party before the equipment is returned to SAO. No student-to-student transfers of equipment.  
  • Students are responsible for arranging for transportation of the equipment to their event.
  • Equipment must be transported to and from Sayles-Hill in the provided cases.
  • Report any missing or broken equipment to SAO as soon as you notice it. Please do not assume it has already been reported. SAO only knows about damage if informed of it.
  • Equipment will not be loaned out during established blackout dates. Blackout Dates: Reading Days, Finals, during academic breaks or summer break. The last checkout date is May 15.

Reservations

  • Reservations are made on a first-come first-serve basis for performances held on or off-campus or for the speaker for DJ parties.
  • The Music Equipment Request Form must be filled out at least two business days in advance to request equipment. Requests for equipment during Blackout Dates will not be accepted.
  • The Coordinator of Student Activities will coordinate a time to pick up and return equipment.

  • We DO NOT have fog machines available. They should never be used in any College facility (except for Cowling Gymnasium) as they may set off the fire alarm.
