• Carleton College has a collection of georeferenced historical maps and aerial photos created for academic projects, including:
  • Aerial photos of Carleton college and surrounding areas since 1938. These photos are distributed as public tile layers that can be used in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS desktop software, and as downloadable files from the Carleton College Campus GIS Data Web page (Carleton College credential required).
  • 1931 campus map of Carleton College. This map is distributed as a public tile layer that can be used in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS desktop software, and as downloadable files from Carleton College Campus GIS Data Web page (Carleton College credential required). The map is georeferenced to support use at large scales.
  • 1769 map of Boston. This map is distributed as a tile layer shared with members of Carleton College ArcGIS Online account.
  • 1783 map of London and Westminster area in England. This map is distributed as a public tile layer that can be used in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS desktop software.

• University of Minnesota John R. Borchert Map Library:
  The Library contains an extensive collection of historic maps and atlases. Though the focus is on historic Minnesota items, the collection contains a wide range of topics and dates, from historic items dating back to the 16th Century, to current maps from around the world.
• University of Minnesota Libraries Minnesota Historical Aerial Photographs Online:
  Online access to Minnesota historical aerial photos. The Collection can also be accessed through the MN Landview application.

Several datasets can be acquired from the Integrated Public Use Microdata Series (IPUMS) site, including:
