Pamela Feldman-Savelsberg, Broom Professor of Social Demography and Anthropology at Carleton and co-director of Africana Studies, presented a paper titled “Contingent Lives and the Puzzle of Reluctant Relatives: The Social Construction of Fostering, Parenting, and Class” at the annual American Anthropological Association meeting in Seattle.
