Illegality, Settler Colonialism, and Justice: An Interdisciplinary Panel for Thinking Through Key Ideas Impacting Our World
Join professors Meredith McCoy, Rebecca Brückmann, and Constanza Ocampo-Raeder for a multidisciplinary presentation and discussion on three of today’s most critical ideas shaping our lives: illegality, settler colonialism, and justice.
From Minneapolis to Venezuela to Greenland—and beyond—our understanding of the world order is contested on a daily basis. Many are left wondering how to make sense of it all, how to get involved, or simply where to begin. This event starts that conversation by grounding the discussion in intellectual traditions and legacies of the interdisciplinary fields of Africana Studies, American Studies, Latin American Studies, and Native and Indigenous Studies. In doing so, we deepen our understanding of current events and, more importantly, reveal possibilities for the future.
If you plan to attend, RSVP here.
Please note: to maintain a safe and open environment for our speakers and attendees, this event is strictly limited to the Carleton campus community. A valid Carleton email is required for attendance.
