ACE Student Showcase
Inaugural ACE Student Showcase 2026
When: Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 5:15 pm. Where: Weitz 236.
Part 1: ACE Showcase, Tin Tea, and prizes 4:00 – 5:15
Support student groups as they present ACE projects developed over the past year. Project topics include:
- Poetry written in the Poetics of Disability course with Laura Baker
- Oral History Project with Cambodian Elders
- CS Comps project developing a mobile app for the Office of Health Promotion’s Junk Mail program
- Culturally sensitive strategies for substance use recovery with Koom Recovery
- Wave tank demonstration for elementary school kids at Greenvale
- Research and documentation of the Minneapolis Police Department’s data practices and publicly available Use of Force data
- Federal funding cut impacts on the HOPE Center and occurrences of intimate partner violence
Join the audience as a community “judge” to help award unique prizes in the following categories: Most Creative, Most Carleton, Most Educational, Best Poster/Visual
Refreshments: Enjoy food and drinks from Tin Tea while celebrating the hard work and learning of our ACE students.
Part 2: Career Center Interactive Workshop 5:15 – 6:30
Following the ACE showcase and prizes, participants are invited to join Career Center staff for a fun, 60-minute game-based workshop to practice speaking about the practical skills you’ve developed and confidently talk about the impact of your experience. You will learn to identify and translate skills you’ve learned into professional storytelling.
The core activity is a fun, group-based card game where students earn points by telling short, professional experience stories demonstrating how you used specific technical and transferable skills.
