Carleton’s Sociology and Anthropology (SOAN) department explores how different parts of society affect each other. We study how society and environment interact, and we examine how coexisting nations influence each other. Our coursework includes research inside and outside the classroom. SOAN professor, Constanza Ocampo-Raeder, also co-leads a field research program in Oaxaca, Mexico focused on exploring human-nature relationships around food and forestry.
