Kaz Skubi

Kaz Skubi grew up in Seattle, WA, before moving to the Midwest to start as an undergraduate student at Carleton. After completing his B.A., Kaz moved to Madison to undertake his PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with Tehshik Yoon. His PhD work focused on asymmetric photochemical reactions, particularly [2+2] cycloadditions. After Wisconsin, Kaz traveled to Yale University, where he was a postdoctoral research fellow with Pat Holland. At Yale, he studied the chemistry of iron complexes with sulfur-based ligands. Kaz next taught for two years at Skidmore College, followed by one year at St. Olaf College. He returned to Carleton in 2023, starting as an assistant professor of chemistry.
