Dear colleagues and students,
Fantastic news. As of this morning, we’ve reached a new milestone in the Workday implementation process: registration and advising functionality is becoming available in Workday. This is a significant step in Carleton’s ongoing work of creating a new, more reliable, more integrated administrative experience for the campus community.
While there are very few immediate changes for you at this point, here are four things to know:
- This Spring Term, we’ll be straddling the old systems and the new systems. If you’re not sure which system to use for which task, then view this timeline.
- Students will now have both a Student Profile and a Worker Profile in Workday. Ability to see student information will roll out over the next two weeks. Department chairs and admins now have this information and should be aware of that when approving student worker time entry. Here’s information on how to find, recognize, and switch between those two profiles.
- As of today, users can ask questions about Workday processes and functionality using Workday Cases, available in the Workday Help app. More information here.
- More information about advising and registration in Workday will become available in April. Watch your email and the SEAMS Training page for more details!
If you have any questions about where we are with this project, please contact Workday Project Manager Julie Anderson, Director of Enterprise Information Services Julie Creamer, or Registrar Theresa Rodriguez.
Last but definitely not least, we must thank the many members of the project team for their work to reach this point and for their continued work throughout this academic year to complete this transition. And to the campus community, thank you for your attentiveness to our communications and your participation in this process.
Sincerely,
