Workday Show-and-Tell Sessions

Workday Wins

Project members across the HCM and Finance areas are actively preparing for our CCS phase in the coming two weeks (Customer Confirmation Sessions). CCS sessions are basically really cool show-and-tell sessions done by Carleton staff that demonstrate Workday functionality to other project members. During these sessions, staff create and manage transactions within our Carleton Workday environment. The experience is exhilarating and terrifying at the same time!

Linda Thornton, our Finance Lead, reports that she has been inspired by each CCS prep session, and the fact that our Carleton team is already taking ownership of our Workday system. The teams in Customer Billing, Collection, Employee Expense Reporting, Supplier Procurement, Banking, Grants, and Gifts and Accounting are transitioning everything we know about our current work in Colleague into new experiences within Workday. Alchemy continues to instruct us along the way and we continue to find enhancements we want to make within Workday to improve the Carleton user experiences.

In just a matter of a few months, we are seeing our data in Workday, we can run through processes, and we can show others what it’s going to look like in our new Workday world. For example, if you are a person who has a Carleton purchasing card, we are already running through what your future experience is going to be in Workday.  It’s really quite amazing.

CSS provides us with confidence in Workday as well as confidence in our own knowledge to move into our June testing phase. We offer a virtual high-five to the CSS presenters across the Finance and HCM areas for a job well done.

You never really know something until you teach it to someone else.
