We are used to the Hub homepage, which is a list of clickable links to very important functions.
Workday is a powerful application that will become the new home of these important functions in the months ahead. It is not, however, just a list of clickable links. Workday has a very different design and it will take us all a bit of time to acclimate to this new environment. Rest assured we will work to orient you to the differences in these systems to ease any uncertainty.
In addition to a new user interface that will still allow you to accomplish all of the important business you have so far completed in the Hub, Workday will place at your fingertips additional functionality that has long been on the wishlist of our campus community. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing information with you about how Hub functionality will transition to Workday, and where you’ll find these core functions in Workday. The SEAMS team is currently working on developing training that will assist our transition into this new and exciting world of Workday. Stay tuned for additional updates!
If you want to get to a function in Workday, you have options.
- You will have a collapsible sidebar menu of customizable links to groups of related functions.
- There’s a Search bar where you can enter keywords that get you to what you want to accomplish.
- You can create a list of ‘Favorites’ and ‘Shortcuts’ which will help you get to your most often used functions easily.
