Courses numbered 300 and above are conducted entirely in Russian and focus on selected topics in literature and culture. Recent course offerings include:

  • Russian 336: Pushkin
  • Russian 345: Russian Cultural Idioms of the 19th Century
  • Russian 351: Chekhov
  • Russian 360: Russian Theater in the 20th Century
  • Russian 395: The Cult of Stalin

Language Skill Maintenance, a 2-3 credit weekly conversation/reading course usually led by a native speaker, allows students to improve or maintain skills, whether or not they are enrolled in another course in which they are using Russian. The maintenance course may be taken repeatedly for credit.
