Essay contest winners announced

Two Carleton students were awarded honorable mention in the Eleventh Annual National Post-Secondary Russian Essay Contest sponsored by the American Council of Teachers of Russian. In this year’s contest, there were 1,139 essays submitted from 59 universities and colleges across the nation. Each essay is judged anonymously by three judges in Russia, and prizes are awarded for each language level. We had over 100 students from 42 institutions throughout the United States win gold, silver, bronze, or honorable mention certificates. Nine Carleton students at various levels participated in the contest.
