Alum wins national library award

Jill Golden, a Russian major from the class of 2004, has been named the Federal Library Technician of the Year for 2007. Jill works in Acquisitions at the Marshall Center Research Library in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. According to the citation, Jill “implemented numerous new services, demonstrated an exceptional commitment to service and applied innovative thinking, technical skills and knowledge of library resources for the benefit of a diverse user community.” This fall, Jill will be finishing a master’s degree in Library Science through an internship at the National Library of the Czech Republic, after which she plans to pursue a graduate degree in Russian and East European Studies.
