The 2020 Annual Student Research and Internship Symposium will be held virtually from Friday, October 16th–Monday, October 26th.

On October 16th, the virtual symposium will open and there will be a period of synchronous chat interactions between 4–6 PM. Presenters will be assigned an hour, either from 4–5 PM or from 5–6 PM, when they are expected to respond to questions and comments submitted through the chat function in real time. For the other hour, they should visit and comment on at least five other posters. The session will remain open for asynchronous chat through October 26th.

Your mentors, friends, and family can participate at any time between Oct 16–26. If their email is a Carleton domain, they will be able to join the symposium without needing to submit an RSVP. If they have a different email domain, they should use the Symposium Information and RSVP link below, so that they can be given permission to participate.

This virtual symposium will be held using the ForagerOne platform. Presenters will be assigned an abstract number and we will ask them to upload to the ForagerOne interface the title and abstract that they submitted on the registration form, along with a pdf of their poster and a short (< 5 minutes) video “poster talk” about their work. Presenters will receive a copy of their application form when they register and they should save this information and use it when they upload their materials.

Instructions for creating a poster and a video for the symposium are available on the Information and Registration for Students page below. Information about uploading materials to ForagerOne, which must be done by October 12, can be found on the ForagerOne Information page.
