Alex Kosanovich ’14, Chemistry Student Research Partner

Alex was a FOCUS student who conducted research over two summers and the intervening academic years with Professor Matt Whited in inorganic chemistry. This work resulted in two co-authored journal publications with Prof. Whited.

Alex’s research experience led him to pursue a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at Texas A&M University, as an NSF LSAMP Graduate Fellow, earning his PhD in February 2019.

Alex is currently a senior chemist in the Dow Polyurethanes Product R&D Group in Texas.

Research and mentorship at Carleton are uniquely strong, and the outsize effects of that strength can be readily seen throughout the global community of professional scientists.
