As part of a series on performing arts and social change, playwright José Cruz González spoke to students about his work in community-based theater. In conversation with Associate Professor of Theater Andrew Carlson, González spoke about collaborating with communities to create plays reflecting their experiences. He spoke about the process of building relationships with community members and the transformative power of community-based theater. The event was co-sponsored by the Public Works Initiative, the Theater and Dance Department, and Arts at Carleton.
