Julia Strand, associate professor and chair of psychology, gave an invited lecture for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Department of Psychology Colloquium series. The talk featured research by Artemis Brown ’17, Violet Brown ’17, Naseem Dillman-Hasso ’20, Madeleine Merchant ’17, Julia Smith ’18, Lucia Ray ’20 and Jed Villanueva ’22. She also published a paper in the journal Psychological Methods entitled, “Error Tight: Exercises for Lab Groups to Prevent Research Mistakes,” which uses principles of human factors research to make recommendations for ways research teams in the sciences and beyond can prevent and catch mistakes in their workflows.
