Associate Professor Julia Strand Gives Two Invited Virtual Talks for an International Audience

Julia Strand, associate professor and chair of psychology, recently gave two invited virtual talks for international audiences. The first was for the Virtual Psycholinguistics Forum, sponsored by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and organized by a researcher at the National University of Singapore. In her talk, “Error Prevention in Psychological Research,” Strand applied human factors research from aviation, nuclear safety and medicine to make recommendations for detecting and reducing errors in research. The second talk was “Preregistration in Speech Research,” presented for the Open Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders Initiative, arranged by the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.
