This grant will support summer work up to four weeks of full time work ($1,000/wk) for instructors who want to incorporate analysis of an ethical issue (or issues) into a course. This grant is not meant for classes that already spend substantial time analyzing ethical issues, but rather for classes that study topics that are closely connected to ethical issues but do not currently explicitly address such issues in a sustained way. For example, someone who teaches genetics might wish to include a module on the ethics of genetic engineering. Additional funds may be available for instructors to bring in outside speakers to discuss the ethical issue at hand (please include request in your budget). Recipients of this grant are welcome to contact the EthIC director for help locating resources related to their project.
