The David Laird ‘50 Memorial Fund for Faculty Development provides dedicated time and support for junior faculty in the Arts or Humanities to undertake research, writing, or creative work. Specifically, the fund is intended to provide a one course release for an assistant professor in the arts or humanities. In addition, it can cover enrollment in the Faculty Success Program currently run by the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD). Large FDE grant proposals from eligible faculty will also be considered for funding through this fund.  Course releases supported by this fund will typically be awarded through the Large FDE Grant process, but they can also be awarded at other times.  For additional details, contact the Office of the Provost.
