The choice to leave Carleton is never an easy one, but it can sometimes be the right one for some students. Under no circumstances should such students feel alone, without anyone to consult about the trade-offs that weigh on their minds. Advisers who encounter an advisee who is contemplating transferring to another school should contact the Director of Advising for follow-up. That office will provide the student with additional support to help them think through their choices. The Director of Advising advises all incoming transfer students. Consequently, that office can put current Carleton students contemplating transferring in touch with these students who can provide peer counseling.
