Dear Members of the Carleton Community,
On behalf of the Presidential Search Committee, we write to update you on the status of our search for Carleton’s next president. Following several rounds of interviews and reference checks over these past few weeks, the committee narrowed the field of candidates to a group of outstanding finalists.
As part of our due diligence, three finalists recently had the opportunity to visit campus and meet in person with additional small representative groups of key campus constituencies, including a total of approximately 50 faculty, staff, students, and Tuesday Group members. The finalists also met virtually with a small group of key alumni volunteer leaders and members of the Board of Trustees.
Participants in the small group discussions with finalists were chosen by representative members of the search committee. To ensure confidentiality, all participants signed non-disclosure agreements. We very much appreciate their participation and invaluable feedback on our finalists.
The committee has carefully reviewed this feedback, as well as additional reference checks. There is still more information yet to come, after which we anticipate being able to recommend a final candidate to the Board of Trustees this Spring. A public announcement will follow.
The search committee has done a remarkable job throughout the search and in getting us to these final stages. Thank you for your trust and confidence in our work.
Best Regards,
Cathy Paglia ’74 and Wally Weitz ’70
