- Under the direct supervision of the study team, assists in coordinating the details of the study and documentation concerning study protocols, patient recruitment, patient scheduling, history work, data collection, data entry, data management, follow-up care, and compliance with federal, state, sponsor and institutional guidelines.
- Consults with and assists staff in own and other labs in conducting research projects.
- Performs data entry and manages study database as directed and performs other administrative duties related to the study as assigned.
- May perform technical duties related to clinical and experimental research as directed and under the supervision of other study personnel.
- May order materials/supplies and assist with general office work.

Research Specialist Position
12 April 2022The Marks laboratory seeks an engaged and self-motivated individual to conduct basic science research in the cell biology underlying pigmentation in the skin, hair, and eyes. The Research Specialist will work with the PI and/or other lab staff to conduct a semi-independent research project in one of several ongoing areas. Successful candidates will have a BS/BA in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field, some relevant laboratory experience, and a desire to work as part of a small team. The Marks lab is situated within the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Research Institute and is affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.

FT Biopsy Tech Position
21 March 2022HPA is seeking a full-time Biopsy Technician to work alongside its accomplished Pathologists’ Assistants and other healthcare professionals in the laboratory diagnostic process. As a Biopsy Technician, you will perform gross examinations of routine pathology specimens. A gross exam is the visual inspection of tissue removed from patients during surgical procedures. It involves describing, measuring, and sometimes manipulating the tissue (using ink or sectioning with a scalpel) before submitting the tissue for histologic processing. Gross examination of pathology specimens is one of the first and most critical parts of the laboratory diagnostic process and an integral part of patient care.

HealthPartners Critical Care Research Internship
7 March 2022The clinical research interns support the Critical Care Research Center at Regions and Methodist Hospitals in clinical trials within EMS, Emergency Medicine, Surgical Intensive Care, Medical Intensive Care, Adult, and Pediatric Level I Trauma Program, Surgery Hospital Medicine, Cardiology, ENT, Plastic Surgery, and the Burn Center. Interns will sit in the Emergency Department for most of their shifts and will attend codes (traumas, strokes, and cardiac arrests) to screen study patients. The focus may pivot to experimental COVID-19 treatments pending case surges over the course of the internship.
