VAW Global Health Alliances (VAW Global) is looking to bring a Medical Outreach chapter to Carleton College to lead an outreach to Peru, Vietnam, Cambodia, Guatemala, or Panama.
The VAW Global Team Leader would be in charge of gathering students (interns) and preparing them for their medical internship in one of our global sites. While in-country, VAW Global Medical Interns work closely with local healthcare professionals and partners to implement primary medical clinics across low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Through the Medical Outreach Internship program, interns learn about healthcare in a global context and disease diagnosis, treatment courses, and clinic operations through shadowing, measuring vital signs, and learning about basic pharmacology — all under the direct supervision of experienced local physicians and staff.
This Team Leader position is a paid fellowship.
