Paid Gap Year Job Opportunity – Clinical Assistant at Renew ENT and Hearing Center

 Renew ENT and Hearing Center (Edina, MN) is seeking collaborative Clinical Assistants to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in providing quality patient care and ensuring a smooth, welcoming healthcare experience. This is a great gap year or learning/professional development opportunity for future health professionals. We are hiring Clinical Assistants for expected start dates between October 2024 and May 2025. (They will consider Carleton seniors and alumni even though graduation is in June)

Responsibilities: 

  • Conducting patient HPI intake interviews 
  • Applying topical numbing as needed for nasal endoscopy and laryngoscopy 
  • Debriefing providers on patients’ HPI 
  • Scribing providers’ encounters including physical examination findings, review of imaging and audiogram/tympanograms, creating impressions and plans, applying diagnosis and procedure codes, and billing 
  • Ordering prescriptions and additional testing as allocated 
  • Providing patient education as requested 
  • Assist in in-office procedures 
  • Assist in set-up and review of CT scan of sinuses 
  • Maintain flow of clinic and communication between providers and clinic team 
  • Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (related to medical field or equivalent preferred) 
  • Patient care experience 
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written skills 
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and problem-solving skills 
  • Medical terminology 
  • 50+ wpm typing skills 
  • Daytime availability between 7:15am and 4:30pm every weekday 
  • Completion of pre-professional testing (MCAT, GRE, etc.) prior to start preferred
